Project Associate – Social Cohesion

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Project Associate to support the Social Cohesion and Resilience Pillar in Sarajevo. Working under the Deputy Chief of Mission and the Head of the Social Cohesion and Resilience Pillar, you will contribute to the Roma Assistance Programme funded by the European Union and implemented with UN partners.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the implementation and monitoring of project activities related to readmission and sustainable reintegration of Roma and other vulnerable groups.
• Coordinate regularly with government authorities, UNDP, UNFPA, UNICEF and other partners at national and local levels.
• Organise and follow‑up meetings, trainings, workshops and other project events.
• Prepare project documentation, reports, briefing notes and correspondence.
• Retrieve, compile, analyse and present data on specific project topics.
• Monitor the project budget, verify fund availability, obtain approvals and update budget information.
• Act as the focal point for administrative coordination, liaising with internal units and external parties to secure clearances and requests.

Required profile

• Ability to communicate professionally with government counterparts, project partners and stakeholders.
• Experience in project implementation, monitoring and reporting.
• Strong analytical skills for data collection, summarisation and presentation.
• Familiarity with budget monitoring and administrative coordination.
