Project Assistant - EU Solidarity Fund Recovery Project

About the role

The UNDP BiH office in Sarajevo is recruiting a Project Assistant for an EU Solidarity Fund-supported project aimed at helping governments in Bosnia and Herzegovina recover from the October 2024 natural disaster through rehabilitation and/or reconstruction of infrastructure. Working under the direct supervision of the Project Manager, the assistant provides technical, administrative and logistical support to the Project Team, ensuring high quality, accuracy and consistency of work.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall technical, administrative and logistical support to project activities, assisting the Project Manager and Team in preparing outputs and participating in planning, organizing and executing them.
• Help coordinate field activities, maintain stakeholder contacts, arrange and attend meetings, take notes and follow up.
• Ensure accurate data entry into databases and tools used for project monitoring, and draft routine correspondence and reports.
• Support compliance with UN/UNDP rules, regulations, policies and strategies, and assist in selecting consultants in line with UNDP procedures.
• Provide minor translation and interpretation services as required.
• Support external evaluations and audits, organize translation, interpretation and transportation services, and maintain project archives and files.
• Ensure business processes follow UNDP rules and the internal control framework, and help with monitoring and evaluation.
• Mainstream gender equality, ensure data are gender and age disaggregated, and contribute to knowledge management and capacity building.

Required profile

• Secondary education, or a university degree (Bachelor's) in Public Administration, Economics, Social Sciences or a similar field.
• Ability to work in a conflict-sensitive, integrated and innovative approach to development.
