Joint Project Coordinator – Dealing with the Past, Looking to the Future

About the role

The UNDP in Bosnia and Herzegovina is implementing, as a Leading Agency, the joint project "Dealing with the Past, Looking to the Future in Bosnia and Herzegovina" funded by the United Nations Peacebuilding Fund (PBF) and carried out in partnership with the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR). The Joint Project Coordinator is based in the UNDP BiH office in Sarajevo, with frequent field travel to the project target area. The post is open to internal and external applicants.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the joint project activities of UNDP and OHCHR, ensure achievement of the project objectives and cooperate with institutional partners and other stakeholders.
• Liaise with partner UN agencies and the Residence Coordinator's Office to obtain support and advice, prepare annual work plans and lead a team of project personnel, experts and service providers.
• Report to the Steering Committee and advise on programme development, including concepts, proposals and resource mobilization.
• Monitor activities against the annual work plan and results framework, review schedules and deliverables regularly, and track progress and risks.
• Manage the UNDP budget, collect inputs from other agencies, verify fund availability, approve distributions and ensure timely narrative and financial reports to the donor.
• Ensure gender mainstreaming, quality assurance of financial, procurement and administrative processes, and capture lessons learned.
