Backend Developer – Java & Event‑Driven Systems

About the role

Join Sportradar's Blue Team, a backend engineering group building a core betting platform using Java, Spring Boot, Kafka and event‑driven architecture. You will develop high‑performance, scalable services that handle millions of transactions for global clients.

Key responsibilities

• Implement domain logic and definitions, providing feedback on product requirements.
• Build reliable, clean, and scalable solutions that minimise bugs and rework.
• Continuously learn the business domain, current technologies and explore new tools.
• Suggest technical improvements during planning sessions and retrospectives.

Required profile

• Strong experience with Java and solid hands‑on work with Spring Boot (REST APIs, configuration, security).
• Good understanding of object‑oriented design, clean code and SOLID principles.
• Experience building and maintaining backend services in production.
• Ability to work independently, own features from design to production and mentor less‑experienced engineers.
