Project Manager – Climate‑Resilient Flood Risk Management

About the role

The Project Manager will lead the implementation of UNDP’s climate‑resilient flood risk management project in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Reporting to the Energy and Environment Sector Leader and working closely with the Project Board, the role ensures the project delivers its objectives on time, within budget, and in line with UNDP standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and supervise day‑to‑day project activities, ensuring compliance with UNDP rules, regulations and results‑based management tools.
• Develop annual work and procurement plans, budgets and monitor progress against targets.
• Lead a multidisciplinary team of project staff, consultants and service providers, conducting performance assessments and fostering a high‑performing environment.
• Manage financial allocations, approve expenditures and ensure timely payments in accordance with UNDP financial procedures.
• Provide strategic policy advice and technical guidance to national, entity and local institutions on flood risk management, climate information and early‑warning systems.
• Maintain strong partnerships with key ministries and agencies, including the Ministry of Foreign Trades and Economic Relations, Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry, and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management of Republika Srpska.
• Ensure proper use and maintenance of project equipment, office records and compliance with security and safety regulations.
