Commis I / Commis II - 5-Star Hotel

About the role

Apt Resources is recruiting a motivated Commis I / Commis II chef to join the culinary team of a prestigious 5-star hotel in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The hotel is opening, so the role is also part of an opening team contributing to an exceptional dining experience for international guests. The position is full-time.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook food according to recipes, instructions and hotel standards.
• Assist senior chefs with daily kitchen operations and food preparation.
• Ensure ingredients are washed, cut, portioned and stored correctly.
• Maintain consistency in food quality, taste and presentation, following portion controls and standard procedures.
• Keep kitchen workstations, equipment and storage clean and organised.
• Follow food safety, hygiene and sanitation standards and monitor ingredient freshness and stock rotation.
• Coordinate with other kitchen staff and follow instructions from the Chef de Partie, Sous Chef and Head Chef.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Commis I, Commis Chef or in a similar professional kitchen.
• Culinary training, diploma or certificate in Culinary Arts or a related field is an advantage.
• Willingness to relocate to Bosnia and Herzegovina and comply with the hotel's employment requirements.

Required skills

• Good knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods and kitchen equipment.
• Understanding of food safety, hygiene and sanitation.
• Ability to follow recipes, instructions and portion-control standards.
• Strong teamwork, communication and time management; ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen.

• Salary of EUR 1,000 per month, negotiable depending on experience and suitability.
